What You'll Do:
As the Wellness Coordinator, you'll design and lead programs that help residents live healthier, happier, and more connected lives.
Program Development & Resident Engagement:
- Develop, coordinate, and lead engaging wellness programs based on resident interests and needs.
- Encourage resident participation and involvement in program planning.
- Create opportunities for lifelong learning, social engagement, and healthy living.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and resident satisfaction, making improvements as needed.
Health & Wellness Programming: Lead or coordinate activities such as:
- Exercise and fitness classes.
- Nutrition and healthy living workshops.
- Stress management and relaxation programs.
- Health fairs and wellness events.
Lifelong Learning Opportunities: Coordinate programs such as:
- Computer and technology classes.
- Arts and crafts workshops.
- Book clubs.
- Bible studies.
- Educational seminars and guest speakers.
Social & Community Activities: Plan and facilitate:
- Birthday celebrations and resident events.
- Movie, theater, and community outings.
- Volunteer opportunities.
- Special events and overnight trips.
- Community engagement activities.
Resident Transportation & Support:
- Safely transport residents using the Village van or bus.
- Assist residents with transportation to appointments, shopping, banking, and social activities.
Administrative & Marketing Responsibilities:
- Maintain wellness program records and data management systems
- Create newsletters, calendars, flyers, brochures, and promotional materials.
- Develop presentations and communications that encourage resident participation.
- Maintain the Fitness Center and conduct orientation sessions for new users.
Community Partnerships:
- Build relationships with local organizations and community partners.
- Collaborate with Village staff to provide comprehensive wellness opportunities for residents.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Associate's Degree in Wellness, Health Promotion, Recreation Management, or a related field.
OR
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Strong organizational and event-planning skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Experience coordinating activities, recreation, wellness, or community programs.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office, email, presentations, and digital communications.
- A genuine passion for serving older adults and promoting healthy aging.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience in senior living, recreation, wellness, community programming, or health promotion.
- Experience creating newsletters, flyers, calendars, or promotional materials.
- Experience driving passenger vans or coordinating group outings.
